Have you ever wondered what Rotary is all about?
Did you think that Rotarians were all old and out of touch?
Well, if you don't know or thought that Rotary wasn't fun, then the first step is to come along and see what we are all about. Gisborne Rotary is a diverse club with members aged from mid-thirties upwards.
Once you have attended a few of our meetings, and assisted us with one or more of our community-oriented activities, we may ask you if you would like to join the club. Of course, we really want you to join, but this process is important so that we know who you are and you know what will be expected of you as a Rotarian.
Our aim is that by serving the community that we live in, we will feel that we have been able to contribute to a world of peace, harmony and goodwill. Browsing this site will also give you an idea of some of the projects that we do.
To encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
First |  | The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service; |
Second | High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society; | |
Third | The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life; | |
Fourth | The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. |
